Advanced Facilities

Conbraco staffs 1.5 million square feet of clean, modern production area in North and South Carolina. All four of the complany's plants have been ISO 9001 registered since June 1992. Conbraco was among the first valve manufacturers in the United States to reach that benchmark. The company's facilities utilize some of the most advanced production and quality control technologies available.

Vertically Integrated

Through carefully designed vertically integrated manufacturing processes, Conbraco maintains control over all facets of production. This sets Conbraco apart from many other valve manufacturers. For example, Conbraco is the only valve maker producing its own Teflon® seats and seals. Attention to detail sets Conbraco products apart.

In-House Foundaries

In March 1998, Conbraco celebrated the first pour in its new 200,000 square-foot bronze foundary and manufacturing facility in Pageland, SC. In 1995, Conbraco completed a new 170,000 square-foot investment cast and air set foundary in Conway, SC, yeilding significant increases in production capacity for stainless steel and alloy products.

Machining Capabilities

Conbraco's advanced machining capabilities include 3 and 4 axis milling, drilling, turning and boring of castings, bar stock and extrusions. Numerically controlled and computer numerically controlled machined tools ensure speed, accuracy and precision in machining operations. Every year, Conbraco invests heavily in new capital equipment to stay abreast of improved machining technologies.

Quality Control

Quality Assurance and SPC programs are part of Conbraco's "Zero Defects" philosophy. To that end, a dedicated metallurgy lab tests metal specs with sophisticated instruments. A 450 KVA real-time X-ray system provides a non-destructive examination of valve castings. Completed products undergo flow, hydrostatic, thermal and in some cases, fire testing to insure that they meet or exceed all applicable industry standards. As a result, Conbraco's percentage of defective product returns - less than 1% - is among the lowest in the industry.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating Systemâ„¢ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
